World Care - Recycling for Humanity First

Emergency Relief Network

In the times of emergency, World Care is able to provide the resources necessary for a wide-scale humanitarian relief respond anywhere in the world within twenty-four hours.  Our ability to respond quickly and efficiently serves as a model for civilian emergency relief efforts.  Since 1999, World Care has become one of the largest suppliers of humanitarian assistance during significant times of crises.  We are continually committed to not only remaining one of the largest providers of emergency relief resources to man-made and natural disasters, but to sharing our knowledge and organizational structure with other organizations.

World Care collaborates with over 170 other local, national and international organizations to maximize impact on the affected site.  By combining resources and providing supplies that one or the other organization might not have access or the education to provide, our collaborative effort is stronger and has a greater impact than if each organization were acting alone.  It is the strength in numbers, networks, experience and education that each organization provides which makes the efforts of the collaborations notable.  Just in Haiti alone, the combined resources from International Relief and Development (IRD) and World Care equaled $11 million worth of supplies.  In collaborating with other organizations, World Care minimized redundancy and maximizes the responsibility of each entity to take on a specific role.

Animal Assistance

Individuals are not the only ones devastated during a disaster; animals are also affected by emergencies.  World Care gives emergency pet supplies to agencies that provide direct services for animals.  This year, World Care delivered 4,600 lbs of food, blankets and supplies to organizations such as the Pima County Humane Society and Tucson Wildlife Refuge.
